Philosophical Puzzles
Philosophical puzzles are artificial scenarios meant to make you think about the philosophical principles involved in the puzzle or moral dilemma.
Puzzles and dilemmas are not in themselves guideposts to ethics as the situations are usually extreme. However your solution to a puzzle reflects your underlying philosophy and so can be a good way to “bring it out into the open” for critical examination. Such puzzles can also help illustrate principles, their consequences – and their limitations.
