Can we change the past? Should we change history?

This novel explores the science, the paradoxes, the philosophy and the problems of traveling through time, as the people of multiple timelines struggle to repair the mistakes of the past — and the future. If history can turn on the smallest things, will the course they set it on save the world or destroy it?

The Earth has recovered after a terrible nuclear war, when a scientist discovers that the disaster hinged on one man’s decision: a decision he can change. He would save a billion lives — but at the expense of his own time. And in saving the world from one war a worse disaster is caused, and by the time our distant descendants rediscover the world of science, they find an even greater catastrophe is coming for them from skies. They have no way to escape until they too realise that by making a small change in their distant past they might give mankind another chance.
